Get paid to wire up solar farms or help build the homes Australia desperately needs

Time to explore the Key Apprenticeship Program, addressing two of Australia’s biggest challenges: new energy and housing construction.

If you are a high school student who likes hands-on learning, this program could be your fast track to a solid career in a priority industry.

Ready to gain real skills, learning from experienced tradespeople… while getting paid? Count us in!

Two streams, one smart move

Take your pick from the program’s two streams:

  • New Energy Apprenticeship: will support your clean energy career. Think designing and installing renewable energy systems, working on battery storage, improving energy efficiency, or maintaining the tech that replaces fossil fuels.
  • Housing Construction Apprenticeship: teaches you to build, repair and remodel houses, apartments and even nursing homes. With housing shortages across Australia, skilled workers are in high demand.

Show me the money

Eligible full-time apprentices can receive up to $10,000 over the life of their apprenticeship. That is paid in $2,000 instalments at key milestones, including 6, 12, 24 and 36 months, plus completion. Part-time apprentices can access up to $5,000.

Employers are supported too, with incentives of up to $5,000 in the first year. That makes businesses more likely to hire and train new talent.

Not sure how to find an apprenticeship? Check out this Australian Government guide.

Is this the program for you?

If you like solving problems, building things, working outdoors or seeing the results of your effort in real time, this could be your pathway.

To be eligible, you’ll need to meet the Australian Government’s requirements and be working towards a Certificate III, IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a listed priority occupation.
