Global Game Jam: Compete to create a game in 48 hours!
Ever wanted to test your skills in game development, coding, design or creativity? This year’s Global Game Jam in being held at the University of Wollongong from the 26th to 28th of January, and you’re invited to take part!
So what is a Global Game Jam?
The Global Game Jam is like a massive worldwide hackathon devoted to game creation. Every year, teams gather at different spots across the globe to create teams and participate in the competition. A secret theme is only announced on the day at each individual location, so that it is kept a secret across time zones.
Coders and creators make their very own game by the end of the weekend, testing their skills and prowess (as well as time-management skills) in game design. You don’t even have to be a coder to compete; register yourself to a team and be prepared to bring any skills you have, whether that’s writing, drawing, leading, or testing the final product. Diversity of skills is encouraged, and it’s a great way to make new friends and meet new people.
