We’ve rounded up a list of our favourite Instagram accounts to follow. This week we spoke to the lovely Erin Winick a.k.a @Sci_Chic! Erin runs her own jewellery business, made from 3D printing and featuring some eye-catching, STEM-inspired designs. She’s also an associate editor for the MIT Technology Review, and a total go-getter!

Tell us about yourself.

Hi! My name is Erin. I am the CEO of 3D printed jewellery company Sci Chic and an associate editor for MIT Technology Review. I am 23 and live in Boston. A surprising fact about me is I appeared in a Marvel comic book last year.

Why did you start an Instagram account?

I love the community that surrounds Instagram and have always enjoyed getting a visual peek into the lives of people around the world. I hope to give people a look into my life as a science communicator and entrepreneur.

Who should follow you?

My favourite things to share are behind the scenes looks at 3D printing and design for my company, Sci Chic, and the topics I am currently writing about for my job at MIT. I also have a passion for science inspired fashion and love sparking conversations about science through pictures of my outfits!

I try to make my account fun for people that like science, technology, entrepreneurship or fashion! I think Instagram is a great tool to interact with people with lots of different passions and I try to bridge the gaps between some of those groups.

If you want to see more of my personal projects you can find me at (@erinwinick) and you can shop my 3D printed science jewellery at (@sci_chic).

Top Instagram account to follow?

I am a huge fan of @astroathens, @sumrtime,, @science.sam and @thetrendytechie. I am also a proud @thestemsquad and @swetalk member and supporter!
