iSTEM Women in STEM careers fair

Heard of iSTEM Co.? It’s an amazing movement founded by entrepreneur, innovator and renewable energy engineer, Dr Morley Muse and entrepreneur, data scientist and AI expert Dr Ruwangi Fernando. Their aim? To enable employment for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) including women from diverse backgrounds.

This May 9, their Women in STEM Careers Fair will inspire and empower young women to pursue careers in STEM fields by providing them with insights, resources, and networking opportunities. It’s on in Melbourne, and if you move fast, you can get 50% discounted tickets ongoing until sold out using the code ‘NFP50’ on Humanitix.

Gender bias is a massive contributor to the issues women face in trying to secure and retain a STEM
job. Currently, women make up only 15% of STEM-qualified occupations. The iSTEM Co. Women in STEM Careers Fair aims to showcase the achievements of women in STEM and provide an opportunity to network and meet with potential employers.

Who will be there? Last year the women in STEM careers event featured employers that included Telstra, Westpac, CSL, Metro Trains, Suburban Rail Loop, and Arup.

Check out what attendees thought of last year’s event in this video!
