Designed for recent high-school graduates, the Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship is open now and includes up to $15,000 to put towards an undergrad degree or other course, or pay for living expenses.
On top of that, there’s another $5,000 to cover a week-long Disruptive Leaders Program in Singapore where you’ll meet renowned tech experts and skill up on the communication and leadership front.

Tech scholarship recipient Kanu Agarwal recently featured in the Maths + Data edition of Careers with STEM, talking about her gig as an associate data scientist at Westpac.
“Everyone tells you that if you’re interested in maths and science, you should study engineering,” Kanu says. “I wanted to study something a bit broader.”
Kanu decided on a double degree in maths and computer science at QUT in Brisbane and hasn’t looked back.
Kanu never thought she’d end up working in finance, but as a Westpac Young Technologists Scholar she knew a lot about the culture there. She also knew she wanted to focus on data, and Westpac’s graduate program was one of the few with a dedicated data stream.
“I’m a big believer in just doing what you want to do,” she says. “If you’re interested in something, just study it. Everything will work itself out later.”

To be eligible, you must be intending to commence a STEM related degree at one of Westpac’s five partner universities across Australia, though you do not need to have received a formal offer at the time of your application.
