Meet Finn Randell, a UTS Bachelor of Information Technology (Co-op) scholarship student, who secured a tech job before graduation!
The Bachelor of IT (Co-op) at UTS combines academic study with extended, full-time industry placements and up to $49,500 in financial support over three years.
“I chose the Bachelor of IT (Co-op) because of its incredible industry experience opportunities,” says Finn.
“The ability to learn hands-on in an industry workspace is a huge advantage both professionally and academically.”
Finn and his cohort visited 13 companies to learn about the work they do. One of these companies was Updoc, an Australian digital health platform that connects patients with doctors online. He was then matched to a placement there and was eventually offered a junior software engineer role.
As a junior software engineer, Finn works on full stack problems across the business. He’s also been able to work on Updoc’s mobile app and an automatic document processing system.
“UTS has equipped me with the technical skills to succeed in this role,” Finn says.
