My maths teacher in high school used to say, “Don’t be happy with the answer. Instead ask yourself: Why is that the answer? Why not answer X or answer Y?” Since then I’ve continued to ask questions, which has motivated me to serve the community and try to make a positive impact on the world.
I work as a junior web developer for ManageBGL, a company that develops diabetes management tools that are affordable and easy to use.
The most rewarding project I’ve worked on is PredictBGL – an app that can predict blood sugar levels, enabling the patient to adjust their insulin dose hours ahead. It alleviates a lot of the stress that comes with managing diabetes, and saves them time and money.
I would love to start an IT company with my younger brothers, who are studying biochemical engineering, robotics and artificial intelligence, with the vision to create positive change in our country Zimbabwe.
Life can be unfair and difficult, but if you have faith in yourself and your skills, the rest will take care of itself.
