Science
CSIRO Industry PhD scholarship program
This program brings together an industry partner, a university and CSIRO to co-develop a four-year industry-focused PhD project, with an annual stipend available for successful candidates.
NSW Health postgraduate nursing and midwifery scholarships
The NSW Government offers scholarships of up to $10,000 for registered nurses and midwives who are studying a postgraduate course.
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postgraduate Scholarships scheme
This scholarship is for health and medical grads looking to do a PhD or research masters degree. It covers a stipend of $50,000 a year while you study.
This scholarship offers $25,500 a year for up to 4 years to support postgraduate students studying Medicine at the University of Sydney.
Technology
Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship
This scholarship encourages people with big ideas looking to pursue postgraduate research or coursework in areas related to sustainability, technology and innovation, social change or Australia’s relationship with Asia. It provides up to $120,000 over 2-3 years for postgraduate studies and living expenses.
Engineering
University of Newcastle STEAM Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship is for high-performing international students looking to study a STEAM degree (including masters degrees) at the University of Newcastle. It’s worth up to $48,000 over a full-time 4-year degree.
Maths
University of Sydney Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Mathematics and Statistics
This scholarship includes a stipend for a Masters by Research or PhD student to conduct research in mathematics (applied/pure) and statistics.
J Holden Family Foundation Honours Award in Maths & Physics
Valued at $8,000 this scholarship covers a full-time Honours year in the Faculty of Science, undertaking specialisation in Mathematics or Physics at UNSW.
Postgraduate scholarships in STEM and beyond
Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM
The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering’s Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM program awards postgraduate scholarships to women and non-binary people in STEM. The Postgraduate Research Scholarship is worth up to $130,224.50 for a maximum of three-and-a-half years.
QUT Postgraduate Research Award
This scholarship includes a stipend of around $33,000 a year to study a research masters degree or PhD.
UTS Academic Excellence International Scholarship
This scholarship covers 30% of tuition fees for a high performing international student looking to do a postgraduate coursework program at UTS. UTS also offers a full scholarship for high achieving international students that are successful for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship.
This scholarship is for graduates of the Engineering, Science, and Information Technology fields to undertake formal postgraduate studies in Business Administration. It covers the cost of 4 courses within an eligible program, to a value of around $10,000.
These postgraduate scholarships support outstanding Australians to undertake studies anywhere in the world. They include a contribution of $80,000 towards tuition, living expenses and related costs, per year of study (maximum of $240,000 AUD for 3 years of study) plus travel support.
Cambridge Australia Scholarship
This scholarship supports outstanding Australian graduates to undertake Masters and PhD studies at the University of Cambridge, England.
