Stephanie, Aaron and Winiata show there are many curious and creative study pathways in technology to prepare for a career you’ll love

Not sure what to study after school? You’re not alone — and the good news is there’s more than one way to build a future career you’ll love.
Take Stephanie Franks, who joined the UTS Bachelor of IT Co-op program without any coding experience. Two industry internships later, she’s discovered a passion for cyber security and a community of like-minded students.
Or Aaron Hongvilai, who’s mixing art, music and technology in his Bachelor of Architectural Technology at Billy Blue College of Design powered by Torrens University Australia. He’s already creating bold new designs using game engines and 3D modelling.
Then there’s Winiata Lambert, who once thought he’d be a pilot or a musician. After diving into cyber security at Edith Cowan University, he’s landed internships, leadership roles, and now works full-time protecting businesses online.
Their journeys prove that you don’t need to have it all figured out right now — curiosity, creativity and courage can take you anywhere!
Careers with STEM: Technology 2025 is supported by UTS, Torrens University Australia, Edith Cowan University, Charles Sturt University, Macquarie University and Monash University.
