So what exactly is a food chemist? Well, they’re someone who examines foods at a molecular level. They study nutrients that humans need to keep healthy, individual flavours and preservatives, contaminants, and changes that happen when cooking or spoiling. And as the world’s population grows, they’re interested in sustainability too. This includes how to grow more food, how to preserve food and how to limit waste.
