The skills required for the future *STEM* from VET
We’re excited to shine a light on VET this National Skills Week! It runs from August 24-30 and the theme is “life changing”. This year it’s all about celebrating the role vocational education and training (VET) plays in shaping futures, opening opportunities and supporting industries across Australia.
It’s important to remember that apprenticeships, traineeships and vocational courses are more than just qualifications. These pathways can lead to life-changing experiences for individuals, industries and communities.
Why you should consider VET
You’ll be in high demand after you complete your qualification! Technician and trades workers roles are projected to increase by 195,800 (9.8%) in the next decade.
It’s also a great option for those who:
- Don’t want to commit years to studying a university degree
- Want a gig that’s super hands-on
- Are looking for a more affordable qualification
- Want an alternate pathway into university
- Are keen to equip themselves with the skills needed to build modern Australia
