Students – think big to win big with the University of Adelaide Young Scientist of the Year competition

You’ll need to create a 2-5 minute video that showcases an environmental problem that needs to be recognised, or explains your solution to an environmental problem on one of the following areas:

You could be named the University of Adelaide Young Scientist of the Year, score $500 for yourself, $1000 for your school and publication on the University of Adelaide and Careers with STEM websites. There are more prizes up for grabs too!

Teachers – challenge your curious kids

Integrate this curriculum-linked competition into your classroom and your school could win up to $1000 toward their science program. It’s a great way to complement activities in Science, History & Geography, Digital Technologies and Design & Technology.

We’ve rounded up everything you need to know to make sure your entry stands out from the crowd, including how to choose a topic and how to make a video.

Entries close on Friday 29 October, 2021, with winners to be announced on Monday 6 December, 2021.

The University of Adelaide Young Scientist of the Year competition is open to students in years 7-10 who are enrolled in an Australian school.
