TAFE can lead you down some pretty awesome pathways

If you’re considering a vocational qualification after school or even to upskill later in life, don’t overlook TAFE courses!

… I thought TAFE and VET were the same thing?

TAFE institutes are run by government, and fall under the umbrella of vocational education and training (VET). If you’re not too sure what VET is, check out our article that goes through all the ins and outs.

TAFE training can be just a stepping stone in a long career or a direct path to your dream job! Here are just some of the pathways related to STEM that you can pursue at different institutes across the country:

Nursing

The Victorian Government has recently announced that a Diploma of Nursing will be a part of the free TAFE scheme – where you can study at any TAFE provider that teaches the course without paying tuition.

Dental assisting

Help dentists with day-to-day tasks, as well as being able to operate x-ray machines and imaging. This gives you the option to continue assisting or eventually undertake more training to become a licensed dentist.
